This piece is meant to be an exploration on new techniques.
It isn't finished at all because this time I really mean it's going to grow. I am having too much fun with all these explorations.
Even if I began inspired by the Swedish embroideries, I took out all my books about world embroidery and found so many similarities and new ideas that I hope my style will incorporate the ones that enhance my normal way of working.
These African damask fabrics from Leufsta Quilt I'm using are wonderful to work with and the colors are so special and intense that they are a joy to look at!
Now I will begin a new part of the piece where I will use an interesting technique I saw yesterday in the book Minority Textile Techniques Costumes from Sout West China that is out of press at the moment, I wanted to write a link to Amazon but I couldn't find one... Stay tuned and you will probably see at least the technique I mean if I'm finished with the piece tomorrow.
Love it!!
