I will try to promise that this is the last blog change in my life but I don't know if I can keep the promise because I know me...!
I will really try hard.
The reason is that most people keep the link to my first blog and it is too complicated for me to figure out another possibility at the moment.
The new look is:
PLEASE GO HERE TO GET THERE.
Ich beende diesen Blog, da ich wieder den Alten in Betrieb genommen habe. Wird auch wieder auf Deutsch sein!

...and things change too.
This is the piece I began yesterday.
The unbelievable thing is that the blue colour you see under the arches was achieved with hollyhock tea. The one I use to usually get pink. This time it got a color as intense as the dyed fabric to the middle left of the piece!
You can also see I'm playing with the small amount of material I have. I use everything at hand and see if I can get contrast and definition with plain techniques.
Well... here I am again. I took the needle in the hand and began something.
There is much thinking going on. Even a work philosophy. When you have time you think more and you put things into perspective.
You discover slow once more.
You begin to play once more.
You reconcile yourself with your little people and accept that they are a part of what you are.
Using what you have and thinking about romanic art...
This is the beginning of the throw I will need this winter in Alicante.
They told me it gets cold in January and February so that I must finish it before that!
I'm using an acrylic yarn I found. It isn't usual to knit or crochet with wool here and it is a little bit unusual for me but I like the way it's turning out to be.
I found this African Flower at Ravelry.
For the ones who don't like to crochet or haven't learned how to do it (yet) there is an interesting project called Moxycrochet in South Africa using this pattern.
What do you do if you need storage for your stuff and are in a rented apartment abroad without your normal possibilities?
This is what I did:
Storage for embroidery threads using yoghurt cups hanging from a ribbon.
Storage for your crochet needles inside a nice plastic salt shaker.
Storage for many things using water bottles cut in the middle.
and even bigger ones...
...a crochet bowl made of plastic bag strips...
...and small metall tins for the jewelry.
I found lots of cotton yarns in variegated colours. I did this shawl I found at Ravelry with the name "Haruni".
I haven't blocked it and you can see that, but my pins haven't arrived. I'm still waiting for the box from home!
Another thing I did were these two necklaces:
I needed some kick for my little (long) black!
There is another kind of nanos. The nanos in Alicante are these:
but today there was a feast at our park near our building and they were letting children and their mothers do some "nanos" for a parade that was going to take place today.
I couldn't resist doing one and I gave it to a little girl who didn't have one of her own:
We used finger paint for doing them and I felt like a child making it!
I'm really enjoying Spain.
As a small good bye to Austria I did this pot mat using the great tutorial from Heidi in South Africa.
I used an acrylic yarn with needles Nr. 6mm/US10 and it turned out to be about 6-7"/15-20cm.
I punched a circle in pink roving with the embellisher. After that I punched the hexagon from the front to the pink circle.
After punching quite good the pieces together I did a short punching from the back so as not to pull too much pink into the crochet.
At last I punched everything from the front once more.
This is a lovely gift to make!
I finished the vest I was knitting with my self dyed wool.
It is made of three parts and you can see the difference in the dye.
This is the front and the difference between the part to the left and the one to the right is that I immersed the already knitted piece in the dye. The right one was dyed with the same colours on the skein.
Here you can see that the colours are darker and get brighter as the piece grows.
Now you can see the one piece from the front to the back. It is the same skein but the dyes penetrated the skein differently.
On the back I made a small embellished triangle on top.
This is the detail I like most. I did a small curved piece to finish the vest.
This video can be found in many blogs in the internet. Anyhow I thought I will embedd it here just in case you didn't see it.
It's so fantastic...
Today I almost finished the cushion. I only have to do the sewing of the back but - because I would like to continue embroidering Bookmania - I upload the photos of the finished surface.
I began doing the crochet with the spike stitch pattern but when the moment came to stitch the 9 circles together I thought of my embellisher and the piece took another turn.
I was very much influenced by the wonderful Hemslöjden magazine I talked about in a recent post.
It is going to be a folk art cushion for my living room.
It was a real recycling object at the end. I used 2 old pullovers for the backing!
